See how to make two cards from one design – one birthday, one Christmas!
Today I want to share how you can make two cards from one design. The first one is a Happy Birthday Card that I created for my husband, Shawn’s Birthday. He loves to hunt. Why try to come up with another design when you can just change the sentiment? Voila…..a second Card for Christmas.
Here are the steps to make two cards from one design – just swap out the sentiment and change the whole meaning of this sweet project:

INSTRUCTIONS
- Fold the Balmy Blue CS in half and crease it using the Bone Folder. The fold should be on the left hand side.
- Cut out the Trees using the Aspen Trees Dies, Vellum CS and Shimmer White CS using the corresponding Dies and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine OR Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. You need 1 in Vellum and 1 in Shimmer White CS. We are going to use the Vellum CS as a Mask. Try to position the Aspen Trees Die in the center of each CS before you cut them out.
- Using the Long Pointed Knife, scoop out a Loonie size of Shimmer White Embossing Paste. Wipe it on the Silicone Craft Sheet. Start by adding 1 drop of Balmy Classic Ink Refill. Mix it in using the Palette Knife. Add more Balmy Classic Ink if needed. Put the cut out Vellum layer on top of the Shimmer White CS that isn’t cut out. Pick up some of the coloured Shimmer White Embossing Paste using the Palette Knife and swipe it over the Vellum CS. Remove excess Shimmer White Embossing Paste and wipe it on the Silicone Craft Sheet. Carefully pick up the Vellum Mask and wipe off excess with a piece of paper towel. Set aside to dry. NOTE: If you are creating more than 1 card, work quickly and do this step as many times as you need to. The Vellum will start to curl. Depending on how many cards you are making, you may need to create another Vellum Mask.
- Stamp the Deer using Crumb Cake onto the Basic White CS. Flip the Deer Builder Punch over, line it up with the stamped image and punch. With the lid of the Crumb Cake Stamp Pad closed, squeeze the pad. This will transfer some on the ink to the lid. Open it up and pick up the ink using a Blender Pen. Colour the Deer. Adhere the Deer to the Shimmer White Embossing Paste layer using Stampin’ Seal.
- Line up the Aspen Trees cut out layer with the Deer layer. There may be over hang on some sides. Take the pencil and draw a line where the over hangs are and cut off using the Paper Snips. Flip the Aspen Trees cut out layer over and put Stampin’ Seal only on the edges. Line it up with the Deer layer and press to make sure it is adhered. Adhere these layers to the Balmy Blue Card Base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Ink up the sentiment using Balmy Blue ink and stamp it in the remaining part of the basic White CS. Punch it out using the smaller oval on the Double Oval Punch. Punch out the scalloped oval using the Balmy Blue CS and the Double Oval Punch. Adhere the 2 layers together using Stampin’ Seal and adhere them to the Card Front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

You can see that you can make two cards from one design any time just by swapping out your sentiment. This is a great way to save time and use your products so they don’t get dusty on the shelf. You could even make some cards and leave the sentiments off and then just add them when you need them!
