Sometimes it’s the simple things that add a lot of WOW to a project. Like the Technique I’m showing you today. It’s so easy to do, takes no additional supplies other than stamps and ink you already have, but really adds a lot of interest to your design. Once you see how easy it is to do, you’ll be doing a lot of KISSING in your craft room!

INSTRUCTIONS

TECHNIQUE – Kissing
1. Pick two stamps – one Background and one Detail – that work well together.
2. Pick two ink colours – one light, one darker – that complement each other.
3. Pick the colour of cardstock for your KISS image (light colors work best).
4. Ink your Background image with the lighter ink; don’t “stamp” yet! (photo #3 – showing the stamped image just for your reference.)
5. Ink your Detail stamp with the darker ink. Place inked Detail stamp directly on top of your inked Background stamp. (photo #4)
6. Check your Background stamp to ensure the Detail image transferred without smudges. (photo #5) If not, clean your stamp and start again at Step 4.
7. Stamp your KISSED Background stamp onto your selected CS. (photo #5.)

For comparison, I show you the Background image before and after the KISSING step. (See Photo 6.) What a dramatic difference!

COMPLETE YOUR CARD (photo #2)
1. Fold Pear Pizzazz Card Base; burnish crease using Bone Folder. Randomly stamp Leaf/Stem and single Leaf image with Pear Pizzaz ink to cover front of Card.
2. Emboss evening Evergreen CS using Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
3. Cut out elongated octagon from small Basic White CS using Hippo Friends Die and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
4. Complete KISSING TECHNIQUE:
Step 4 – ink large irregular-shaped spot [Background] stamp using Mango Melody ink;
Step 5 – ink splatter [Detail] stamp using Real Red ink;
Step 6 – ready to stamp?
Step 7 – stamp on cutout Basic White CS.
5. Ink just Leaf and Stem areas of Flower/Bud stamp using Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker; ink Bud using Mango Melody Stampin’ Write Marker. Stamp on Basic White cutout. Colour within Stem and Leaf using Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker.
6. Stamp large Flower outline using Real Red ink over KISSED image.
7. Highlight areas of Flower using Wink of Stella.
8. Assemble Card as follows:
– Adhere Evening Evergreen CS to Card Base using Stampin’ Seal;
– Loop Sliver Simply Elegant Trim three times; secure to back of Basic White CS using Tear & Tape (but don’t remove Liner);
– Adhere Basic White CS to Card Base using Stampin’ Dimensionals; and,
– Decorate Card Insert as desired.
9. Decorate Envelope if you choose.
